A Little Goes a Long Way

They say give more without expectation, so how about for us? Should we embark on the journey which promises minor possibilities or decline it and seek for more? These are some questions which make us think in life and sometimes in the mission of seeking more we don’t value what is less. Less seems to be a small amount when heard and seen but it holds a huge deal when their intrinsic values are spooned out and their extrinsic values are weighed out from people’s eyes that only pinpoint and push it into the negative category.

Attaching the word “less” behind certain words or actions certainly, allows us to go a long way and furthermore gives us the chance to see the world in a new perspective. Being SPEECHLESS in certain situation enable us to read a people’s features and admire their smile or emotions that gets expressed at that moment. BLAMELESS makes us quit from flipping back the past pages and automatically refrains our fast moving mouth to utter words that recall them. We become human when we learn to be civilized and let go of brutal actions from speaking when anger comes up and it’s called HARMLESS though we must be smart enough to not allow ourselves from being used. Besides that, when we turn out to be CLUELESS surprises get unfold in the most mysterious way and in life it’ll be something to be enjoyed. HELPLESS situations reveal true friends making us leave the friend zone which only knows how to crack jokes but steps out when trouble calls.

Little things that intimidate us disappear when we start to be FEARLESS while CARELESS teaches us to be very much aware of our actions before proceeding with our next attempt. In life at a certain part, we will be JOBLESS and that disappointment makes us strive hard and that emptiness allocates us the time to find the missing pieces or talents that come in handy later. Problems and challenges make us LIFELESS and EMOTIONLESS draining the energy in us yet we found our way which made us RESTLESS and as a result, everything ended well. In addition, when we walked AIMLESS in life we found light at the end of the tunnel and placed each step forward even though we didn’t have an idea about life. We understood that life will never be FLAWLESS and through these imperfections is where we will learn to sculpture ourselves and learn to define uniqueness.

 

The ENDLESS journey of life always keeps us many lessons and experiences in store and makes the past an unforgettable memory, the present a best gift and the future a most unexpected adventure. This journey enables us to replace the LESS in HUMOR and laugh more despite the negative forces that pull us down and THANK the little things that do not change such as the air we breathe, the water we consume, the home that warmly welcomes us and so on. Besides that, when things don’t work out we learn to have FAITH and fall in love with patience which does not result in an instant success but initially, it will become a reality. We learn to expand the SPACE in our heart for those who deserve instead of being selfish and see the wonder of true love and care, taking a toll in the most beautiful way. All this will only be another piece of advise UNLESS it is put to action and practiced in our everyday life.

We are always traveling since life is a collection of changes and every change leads us to a different pathway. It may be temporary or we may stay in it for a longer period. No matter how the journey turns out to be, with the determination within us we will find our way through life and of course by admiring things that come LESS we will travel a long way and along the way we will learn to give up certain LESS that resist us from enjoying life and appreciate it’s temporary presence as a teacher in life before biting farewell. 😇

Hitting the Festive Roads

Travelling will seem like a burden when each of us plans to hit the road when it’s flooding with cars.  We are consistently advised to hit the road after planning it pretty well. However, sometimes planning goes out of our hands and we will fall into the blaming category of the people who travel at the same time as well. Sometimes so many angry misconceptions and comments leave the mind instead of thinking it as one of the time where generally most of the government staffs, as well as other students and residents get some time off from their formal lifestyle. Of course, everyone wants to take this opportunity and that’s what makes Malaysia unique because of all the races participation in one unique celebration.

On the 23rd night, I traveled back to my hometown from my campus in Kelantan and I was kind of doubtful on the arrival of the bus since previously there was a history of the bus arriving at 2 a.m during the festive period. But I was still happy that I was able to go home and was thankful for the company for scheduling a bus at the last moment even though they too deserve a break from their work. The bus arrived at 12 a.m and I had to pinch myself twice since it was early to me. It was estimated that 1 million of cars will enter the state of Kelantan and with the traffic jam, I estimated the bus to arrive at 2 a.m. One of my course mates, two juniors and myself boarded the bus and we were welcomed by a grumpy driver.

Yes, I was kind of disappointed and it furthered when I didn’t get the place I booked in the bus. However, after a while, the truth was revealed whereby the drivers didn’t get an ounce of rest (luckily there were two so they can take turn to drive) and were tackling the jam by taking different routes and those who boarded the bus in the morning were still in the bus. That was the reason why all of us didn’t get the seat we booked. All my disappointment instantly drained off once hearing that from a passenger of the bus. Everyone claims so many reasons for the occurrence of traffic jam especially the reason of moving out at the same time, but when that’s the only available time then rather than staying at home and brooding, taking a risk on a wild chase to the outskirts in the car will be the best option.

When it’s the road, drivers especially bus drivers are the most important person since many life depends on them with the believe that the journey will be safe. Their selfless attributes are one of the main reasons because when happiness lies in spreading the festive spirit to everyone by ensuring they reach their destination that is where the true spirit of celebration lies. Apart from fulfilling their duties, they have all the rights to spend time and celebrate with their loved ones which happen to be once a year. But when it comes to compiling to family needs it becomes second since the first is their duty to unite many families out there. The feeling of sitting in the same place, holding the stirring wheel for hours, facing the number of vehicles without an option to pass through and go to the front is a very unbearable feeling especially when it is done without rest.

 

My travel on that night made me realize that sometimes happiness lies on the purest thought because sometimes even on the day of celebration the person won’t be present because they have taken the oath to serve the country. Distant makes the heart grow fonder and at the same time, thanks to technology distance seem to be reduced by the frequency of contact through Skype, WhatsApp or other applications. Love is spread through thoughts and good vibes and the miseries are masked with the smile and gratitude of being able to view the smile through a small phone screen.  There will be a sacrifice done in order to establish happiness and in return the person will be blessed with the greatest gift; ETERNAL HAPPINESS. 

So, thank you to the souls out there who are willingly ready to work and serve without showcasing the amount of disappointment. The true dedication receives a round of applause. Moreover, let the road be a safe place to travel and when there’s a need to rush let patience play a role in disregarding the action of speeding. Last but not least may everyone have a blessed celebration!

The knight in shining armor

A man with a tough exterior and with the most tender heart is the best definition for the man who stands by us no matter how intimidating or bad the situation may be.  A daughter will always remain as his little princess despite the transformation of a girl to a woman while a Son will be his partner in crime to cause some fun and action in the family. He ensures that only laughter resonates in the family and pushes the problems and misery out of the window. Brings a cup of coffee and sits with a paper in hand while thinking how to solve those problems without the slightest hint of confusion or stress. A wife is usually the closest friend who he can talk everything but most of the time she becomes a child in his heart as well and prefers to put a smile rather than live with the guilt of diminishing the smile even for a second.

 

When it comes to a daughter she’s the precious diamond or his irreplaceable gem. When she dresses up in those cute dresses he will never stop admiring her and wishes that she doesn’t grow up. Her desires are fulfilled even though it may cause a fortune. He will always have this protective barrier around his princess and ensures her tears are wiped. Her achievements are his pride and her failures will be his time to be a motivator or teacher. Holding her hands at all-time till he hesitates to give it to the man who is ready to take place as her husband. Unavoidable tears will be masked with the joy of seeing his daughter taking place as someone’s wife and he reminds himself that she will always be his little girl. He blesses her with all of life’s happiness and vows to be a part of it till the end of life.

A son is his part two and he trains him to man up from an early stage. Sometimes it might seem a little rough but once the son turns to an adult I’m sure he’ll be thankful for his father’s involvement during his entire childhood and teen phase because those are the most crucial stage to mold one. He ensures his son is wise, skilled in protecting and most importantly a gentleman where he knows how to treat his lady like how he treats his mother. A father will love his son in the most discreet way till the son will sometimes feel its utmost negligence but actually, he cares a whole lot but does not express it. His simple actions like silently placing your favorite treat on the table, checking on you once you have gone to bed, give you the freedom to have a late night out with trust that you will stay safe and so on proves his love and care.

He loves his family too much till he sacrifices his time to work hard and provide the best. He doesn’t mind staying away from the family and become the sole breadwinner. It tears him apart to be away from family but when it’s the best available option he doesn’t mind to claim it and man up to it. As children sometimes we blame the less time spent with him without realizing the comfort and needs he has provided. He teaches us to walk in difficult roads when the time comes and sometimes by just being a spectator we will easily realize what hardship is. His kisses and hugs are memorable and when he does the kitchen it’s something interesting too where a pool party may form when doing the dishes. Most importantly he loves to include all to join in the fun of painting or any other amendments or repairs around the home.

A father’s definition of love is different. If it’s mom it’s love at first sight and if it’s dad it’s love at first cry. He does not shower us with the frequent hugs and kisses like how mom does but when the moment we break down it’ll be the saddest thing in life to him and does not rest till a smile is formed on our face. When we take our first steps, he will be there to catch us and carry us to make us feel better. However, when we start to grow out of his hand he will carry us in his heart and will be our hero always and forever. We rarely see him breakdown because it’s his duty to be the pillar of strength making him forget he too is a normal human. That is where we have to kindly remind him that he deserves to have some time for himself and be loved unconditionally not only on special occasions but on a daily basis.

It’s always hard for him to leave the world and when he seems to be helpless when we cry he feels extremely down. That is the time we must cherish the good old times and thank him for everything he has provided so that the soul will be happy in heaven. He will always be watching us from above and no one can change that. Let’s gift our fathers the love and happiness he deserves and also remind him that he is an amazing person beyond words regardless of his absence and presence every day!
