A Cinderella story

Her leg fits the glass slipper and she was married to the prince. His status didn’t stop him from loving her while her ragged clothes and servant job didn’t stop her from letting him know that she too loves him. From the help, of her little friends, Cinderella escapes from her stepmother’s hold and achieves her happily ever after. Well, this is a common story where all the girls either heard it as a bedtime story or maybe it’s the very first storybook they read. Till now a girl still dreams of her perfect happily ever after yet does she only focus on the waiting?

No. In between that dream, she found her voice. A voice which erases discrimination and ensures her presence is acknowledged. The opposite gender is not seen as a threat instead are referred has a good friend and she speaks for herself when she finds some eyes prying her like she has committed the biggest mistake. She makes sure her opinions are raised wisely and actions are taken instead of just neglecting her opinion by referring it as an opinion from a weak circle of people. In different stages of life, especially when she enters the “Golden age” category despite her senile image she still bounces actively correcting the younger generation’s mistakes while sharing wise pieces of advice. No women will be despised nor be pushed aside claiming that she has expired and she will remain as the ultimate Queen which everyone looks up to whenever she speaks.

In between the dream, she also found her courage to break the hands and heads of those who lay their hand on her without permission. Everyone is accepted as civilized humans and with that, she walks with pride disregarding what people have to say. She does not let society judge her but defends herself from all those judgments through the courage that is raised by confidence. Dominancy no longer intimidates her instead she will fight for justice without analyzing at what part of the food chain one belongs. When she is abused or becomes a victim of domestic violence she is ready to step out of it and walk without self-pity. In the world of companionship, when she loses her counterpart she stands tall without even bothering her temporary dishevel state. She lights up her life once again; it’s not the end.

Besides that, she found her passion which should be nurtured and has the opportunity to make her shine. Disapprovals are no longer a forbidden talk; instead, she accepts it and continues because she wants it. Her mind is now full of her passionate dreams and she never regrets her decision. She’s married and her model-like body is long gone, but she never hesitates to hold the microphone and sing. She touches up a little and enters the event with her shiny midi gown even though everyone expects her to only be in traditional outfits. She wants to try different things especially those which specifically states that it’s only possible by the opposite gender. She becomes a pilot and travels the world while at the other part of the world she becomes an astronaut and explores the Milky Way Galaxy.

Apart from that, along the dream she realized that she will find her own glass slipper, purchase it and wear it as a symbol of independence. She wants her other half to know that she can handle her own expenses and also believe that she’s capable of running a family with having her beside him. She falls ill but drives or walks on her own towards the clinic without expecting her counterpart to rush from work and take care of her. She understands that they have taken the vow to take care of each other but sometimes promises are broken because of the situation which arises unexpectedly. She goes on her own to the supermarkets to make her purchases as well as gives her fair share of commitment towards the problems or burdens in life accepting it as part and parcel of being together as well as accepts that sometimes she as to deal it on her own. She even learns martial arts for self-protection and to top it off her F1 driving skills.

Most importantly, she fell in love with herself more than the prince charming and happily ever after she dreams of.  She realizes sacrificing herself is not worthy if she’s not giving herself the importance which she gives others. Her need has to be taken care as well. When she needs rest, she claims the day off and allows her body to recuperate. Her dreams and goals cannot wait and she will never just wonder loose without accomplishing all of it. The more she fell in love with her, she felt others feelings and understood the do’s and don’ts. She became better because she gained the ability to not become an attention seeker and was able to falsify it by turning into a hardcore lady who wants to attain a win-win situation. “You respect then I will too.”, a gentle-firm agreement.

A girl’s Cinderella story is no longer just a dream it’s a vision being turned into a mission. She becomes a one-man army and empowers the society and further extends it from there. Till her prince charming finds her, she is in full action mode. She makes the toughest choice and undergoes a life full of challenges. Yet, she survives becoming a bolder version of herself and when she finds ‘The One” she puts on her own glass slipper, walks down the aisle with a smile which dictates her achievement and the person she has turn into. She puts up a lot of vacancy in her heart so that till the end of life she can continue her selfless duty as a caring wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend, colleague, grand-mother and the list just goes on. She will always remain the best version of herself and shares her Cinderella story with the entire world.
