Don't lick your wound ; CELEBRATE them!

It’s always good to have all the attention to ourselves when we are in pain. That love and care makes us very comfortable and sometimes makes us reluctant to move out from it. When you think you are sick repetitively, then even a doctor will not be able to diagnose us because at the end of the day seeing the negative in us even the apple runs away.

In life, we will never remain in the same place. There will be constant changes making us adapt to multiple possibilities. Among them for me was being selected to study in Kelantan. Year by year it does feel like home and I believe home is where the heart is and it can be anywhere away from your home back in your hometown as well. Recently I got my toe hurt in the campus where it made me difficult to walk. I knew the pain and thought of sharing what I’m going through with my friend. I woke up in the morning and told I got hurt. The one reply I got was “Good luck to you.”  The first time someone told me like that instead of questioning me how I got hurt. I was shocked but I thanked my friend and agreed that I do need a lot of luck to make it through the day. Somehow, I did manage the whole day with some help here and there.

I realized one thing from that good luck my friend sent me. We are responsible for our own actions even if it means falling and getting hurt. My friend or even my mom will not be coming all the way here to treat or look after me. I’m the one suppose to lick my own wounds.  When the good luck is seen in a rear view, it seems rude but look DEEP into that view. My friend has gone through double the pain where when I tell this kind of minor thing it seems like just a normal matter. I do not blame anyone because everyone has gone through pain in some part of their life. So, always compare yourself with the worst of others.

My friend’s sister is another fighter. She is a slow learner where my friend always gets worried about her sister fearing she’ll get left behind in school. But she isn’t one bit afraid. This is because, before bed one night she asked her sister,

“Dear, are you really doing ok in school? Tell, akka (big sister) I’ll help you.”

“No need ok. I know how to manage. Just teach me what I don’t know. That’s enough”, replied her sister.

Tough girl huh? Not an ounce of intimidation towards those who perform well. That little girl believes on her capability and never doubts her potential. She realizes that this is her road and she’s the one who has to steer the car. Her parents and elder sister can only point the direction. A flower which doesn’t feel afraid to wilt because she knows she will have the strength to bloom and become the most beautiful flower once again.

Sometimes the shortest reply or story will really stir the emotions within us. Unbelievable yet it will cause a major change in our life. We will learn to smile in pain and realize the power of optimism when we manage to beat the pain and come out of it. There is always a reason behind every pain and thanks to the people around me I realize that I have to look deep into those eyes which hold many stories. Look into the heart which still functions with an untended crack. The world will be full of hopes for every one of us and remember that only you are the one entitled to deal with life’s misery. Another’s hand might or might not be available but make sure your hand is ready to pull you through it.

NEVER GIVE UP AND BE PROUD OF THE PAIN YOU HAVE WENT THROUGH!
