Aren’t we all susceptible to pain? Some would say yes with a smile, some would say yes with a sigh, while others just cry out loud. Regardless of the different expression towards pain it is an unavoidable gift from God and it’s usual term through the famous quote “No Pain, No Gain”
Let’s say all of us are considered as a cancer patient. We are fighting through pain like them and sometimes it does end up between life and death. We have to sacrifice certain things in life and sometimes it would even be temporary separations for long terms, no calling the one we love, forget that other humans exist and the list just goes on. But I’m very sure all of this will end up in a pleasant surprise or happily ever after. Trust me happily ever after do exist after a lot of trials, challenges, and tears.
My friend here is a fast sleeper where 10-11p.m. or sometimes earlier than that the flight would have taken off. I tried to hijack it many times but fail miserably. At times my friend confesses “I’m such a difficult person right?”. I asked, “Why you grow tired so fast?”. “I’m doing exercise to get the body I wish. I believe one have to carry oneself as that would increase our self-confidence. When there’s a target then there’s certain duration. To achieve it by that time, I have to work extra time that is by going on extra laps and taking care of my diet. The goal becomes the most important thing and all focus will be diverted there. I’ll be exhausted but at the end of the day a smile will be plastered when I see myself in the mirror and especially when I take a SELFIE.” Eventually, I had nothing to say since I believe each of us has our respective goals and no matter how big, small or insane it can be it must be supported. You are the only person who know how much it matters to you. In pain, there should never be negativity as well. My friend does not even tolerate an ounce. Pain driven with positivism will hinder all negativity from entering and gradually success will be attainable.
On the other hand, in campus if I wonder that I’m the only one with so much of headache then what about my course mate who came out of her room for some fresh air after reading so many journals an entire day or someone who lost their loved one in a car accident on the other part of the world? How about a mother who is shouting with pain to bring her child into this world or a dog which got its head hit by a stone? Pain just surrounds us and when we feel each one our burden will immediately be reduced. Pain comes untold but leaves marks or scars which cannot be replaced nor deleted by any other reasons.
In addition to it, another thing which pain brings is you have to walk alone in order to be successful. It is not wrong to have a circle of good friends but those who really know you will stick by you all time. For some, the changes might be hard to accept so we end up going different ways and back to strangers again. Somehow, when you're alone you’ll start to enjoy your own company and find peace in it. You will wonder to yourself that you do possess the incredible power called “independent”. Being independent comes with a price that is the pain because somehow along that solo journey you wish things will turn back to normal. But it doesn’t when the minute you boarded the train which promises a better future and the pros and cons have been weighed.
Broken hearts cannot be mended neither the rocky road will change. The void will be inevitable yet we survive by always putting our goals or missions first. My friend also did mention that whatever dream we have when thought often with optimism it will become a prayer. The prayer will become reality because when we think often about it, we will work hard for it. So, to wrap it up pain involves a lot of emotions and feelings. It is a mixture of optimism and pessimism though sometimes we don’t realize until someone injects it into our system.
Life is a long journey people, so let's welcome pain and grow with it. PAIN IS THE BEST TEACHER!
